Join us for an exciting week of chess, learning, outdoor fun, and friendship at our Roosevelt Island Chess Camp!
Led by National Master Coach Bah and National Master Coach Michael, this camp is designed to help students improve their chess skills while enjoying a fun and engaging summer experience.
Our camp is located in the heart of Roosevelt Island, one of New York City's hidden gems. Roosevelt Island offers stunning panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline, beautiful waterfront promenades, peaceful parks, and the famous Roosevelt Island Tramway. Just steps away from our camp location is a fantastic playground where campers can enjoy supervised outdoor recreation and take a break from chess activities.
Whether your child is learning the game for the first time or already competing in tournaments, our coaches will provide personalized instruction in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Meet the Coaches
National Master | Founder of Chess Advance
National Master Coach Bah has over 9 years of experience teaching chess to children throughout New York City. He has coached students at public, private, and charter schools, helping beginners learn the fundamentals while preparing advanced players for local and state tournaments.
Coach Bah believes that chess should be both educational and fun. His interactive teaching style focuses on developing critical thinking, confidence, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love for the game. He is passionate about creating an encouraging environment where every student can learn, improve, and enjoy chess.
US National Master
Michael Ocido is a US National Master and an experienced chess coach and won multiple tournaments in the US. He specializes in helping kids and beginners build strong fundamentals, improve tactical awareness, and develop confidence at the board. Michael focuses on clear instruction, structured lessons, and practical improvement for every student.
